Medicine Ball Hip Throw Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a medicine ball in both hands at your chest level.
  2. Engage your core and take a step forward with your left foot, shifting your weight onto your left leg.
  3. As you step forward, simultaneously extend your arms forward, forcefully throwing the medicine ball straight ahead.
  4. Allow your back foot to pivot slightly as you throw the ball, generating power from your hips and core.
  5. Catch the medicine ball with both hands as it returns to you, absorbing the impact with your legs and core.
  6. Repeat the exercise by stepping forward with your right foot and throwing the ball again.

Medicine Ball Hip Throw Tips

  1. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding the medicine ball at your chest level.
  2. Engage your obliques by rotating your torso to one side, while keeping your hips facing forward.
  3. As you rotate, explosively throw the medicine ball towards the wall or a partner, using the power from your obliques.
  4. Remember to maintain a strong core throughout the movement, keeping your abs tight and back straight.
  5. As the ball rebounds, catch it with both hands and immediately repeat the movement on the opposite side.
  6. Perform 3 sets of 10-12 reps on each side, gradually increasing the weight of the medicine ball as you progress.
