Medicine Ball Arch Chop Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a medicine ball with both hands in front of your chest.
  2. Engage your core by pulling your belly button towards your spine.
  3. Take a step forward with your left foot, shifting your weight onto your left leg.
  4. Simultaneously, bring the medicine ball diagonally across your body towards your right hip, as if you are chopping wood.
  5. Return to the starting position by stepping back with your left foot and bringing the medicine ball back to the starting position in front of your chest.
  6. Repeat the movement, this time stepping forward with your right foot and bringing the medicine ball diagonally across your body towards your left hip.

Medicine Ball Arch Chop Tips

  1. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding the medicine ball with both hands in front of your chest.
  2. Engage your core and obliques as you rotate your torso to the right, bringing the medicine ball diagonally across your body towards your right hip.
  3. Keep your arms straight and avoid using your shoulders to generate the movement; focus on using your obliques to initiate the chop.
  4. Exhale as you perform the chop, and inhale as you return to the starting position.
  5. Repeat the exercise for the desired number of repetitions on one side before switching to the other side.
  6. Remember to maintain proper form throughout the exercise, keeping your back straight and avoiding any excessive twisting or jerking movements.
