  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a sandbag with both hands in front of your thighs.
  2. Engage your core and keep your back straight as you lift the sandbag up to your shoulders.
  3. Once the sandbag is at your shoulders, bend your knees slightly and lower your body into a quarter squat position.
  4. Begin walking forward by taking a step with your right foot, followed by your left foot.
  5. As you walk, keep your back straight, shoulders back, and the sandbag stable on your shoulders.
  6. Continue walking forward for the desired number of steps or distance.
  7. To finish the exercise, stop walking and carefully lower the sandbag back down to your thighs.

Sandbag Shoulder Walk Tips

  1. Start by standing tall with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding the sandbag on one shoulder, gripping it firmly with both hands. Engage your core by pulling your belly button in towards your spine, and keep your chest lifted.
  2. As you take your first step, focus on keeping your shoulders level and your back straight. This will help you maintain proper form and prevent any unnecessary strain on your obliques.
  3. With each step, consciously engage your obliques by imagining that you are pulling your belly button towards the opposite hip. This will activate these muscles and enhance their involvement in the exercise.
  4. Keep a steady and controlled pace throughout the exercise, avoiding any jerky or rushed movements. This will allow you to fully engage your obliques and maintain proper form, ensuring maximum benefits from the exercise.
  5. Remember to breathe steadily and deeply throughout the sandbag shoulder walk. Inhale deeply as you prepare to take a step, and exhale as you exert effort and engage your obliques. This will help you maintain focus, stay energized, and optimize your performance.
