Sandbag Snatch Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing slightly outwards.
  2. Place the sandbag on the ground between your feet, ensuring it is centered.
  3. Bend your knees and hinge at your hips, keeping your back straight, and grip the sandbag with both hands.
  4. Drive through your heels, explosively extending your hips and knees, while simultaneously pulling the sandbag off the ground and raising it overhead in one fluid motion.
  5. Lower the sandbag back down to the ground between your feet, bending your knees and hinging at your hips as you go, and repeat the exercise for the desired number of repetitions.

Sandbag Snatch Tips

  1. Start with a proper warm-up to activate your shoulders, quads, glutes, and lower back.
  2. Focus on engaging your shoulders by keeping them down and back throughout the movement.
  3. Drive through your quads and glutes to generate power and explosiveness during the snatch.
  4. Maintain a neutral spine by engaging your core and lower back muscles throughout the exercise.
  5. Use a wide grip on the sandbag to target your shoulders and engage more muscle fibers.
  6. As you lift the sandbag, extend your hips and knees simultaneously to maximize power.
  7. Practice proper form and technique before increasing the weight to avoid injury and optimize results.
