  1. Stand facing a step or platform with your feet hip-width apart and a sandbag placed on one shoulder.
  2. Place your hands on your hips or keep them relaxed by your sides.
  3. Step up onto the platform with your loaded leg, pushing through your heel and engaging your glutes and quadriceps.
  4. Bring your non-loaded leg up onto the platform, ensuring both feet are fully on the platform.
  5. Step back down with your non-loaded leg, followed by your loaded leg, returning to the starting position.

  1. Start with a light sandbag to get comfortable with the exercise and focus on proper form.
  2. Stand tall with the sandbag on one shoulder, engage your core, and keep your chest up.
  3. Step up onto a sturdy platform with the same-side leg, pushing through your heel to activate your quads.
  4. As you step up, keep your knee in line with your toes to prevent any unnecessary strain on your joints.
  5. Lower yourself back down with control, feeling the burn in your quads as you resist the descent.
  6. Alternate legs and repeat the exercise for an equal number of reps on each side, maintaining balance.
  7. Gradually increase the weight of the sandbag as you become more comfortable and confident with the exercise.
