Leg Curl 2 Overview

The Leg Curl 2 workout is designed to primarily engage the Hamstrings.

This exercise utilizes the Leg Curl machine, which targets the back of the thighs.

By isolating the Hamstrings, the Leg Curl 2 workout helps strengthen and tone these muscles.

While the machine may also engage auxiliary muscles, its main focus is on the Hamstrings.

Leg Curl 2 Instructions

  1. Adjust the leg curl machine to your body size and desired resistance level.
  2. Lie face down on the machine with your legs straight and your ankles under the padded roller.
  3. Grasp the handles or sides of the machine for support.
  4. Bend your knees to lift your feet towards your buttocks, keeping your thighs on the pad.
  5. Squeeze your hamstrings at the top of the movement.
  6. Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position, fully extending your knees.
  7. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Leg Curl 2 Tips

  1. Ensure proper alignment: Adjust the machine’s seat and footpad to align your knees with the pivot point. This allows for a full range of motion and optimal engagement of your hamstrings.
  2. Mindful contraction: Before initiating the movement, focus on squeezing your hamstrings. Imagine pulling your heels towards your glutes, activating those muscles and preparing them for the exercise.
  3. Controlled tempo: Slowly lower the weight, taking at least 2 seconds, to fully stretch your hamstrings. Avoid rushing the movement, as this reduces the effectiveness of the exercise. Feel the burn and embrace the challenge!
  4. Don’t cheat with momentum: Avoid swinging your body or using momentum to lift the weight. Instead, use the strength of your hamstrings to curl the weight up, maintaining control throughout the entire range of motion.
  5. Breathe and focus: Inhale as you lower the weight and exhale as you curl it up. Concentrate on the mind-muscle connection, visualizing your hamstrings working hard. Remember, progress takes time, so stay consistent and celebrate every small improvement!
