Elastics Rowing Overview

The elastics rowing workout is designed to primarily target the upper back muscles using resistance bands.

During the workout, the elastics are attached to a stable object, and the user pulls the bands towards their chest, engaging the upper back muscles.

While the workout may also involve secondary muscle groups, the focus remains on strengthening and toning the upper back.

Elastics Rowing Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and place the elastic band around your feet, holding the handles in each hand.
  2. Bend your knees slightly and hinge forward at the hips, keeping your back straight and your core engaged.
  3. Extend your arms straight in front of you, with a slight bend in your elbows, and keep your wrists neutral.
  4. Pull the handles towards your body, squeezing your shoulder blades together and engaging your back muscles.
  5. Pause for a moment, then slowly return to the starting position, keeping tension on the elastic band.
  6. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Elastics Rowing Tips

  1. Start with a light resistance elastic band to avoid strain and focus on proper form.
  2. Position yourself with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and core engaged.
  3. Hold the elastic band with both hands, palms facing down, and arms extended in front of you.
  4. As you pull the band towards your chest, squeeze your shoulder blades together, engaging your upper back muscles.
  5. Keep your elbows close to your body throughout the movement to maximize the engagement of your upper back.
  6. Control the movement as you slowly release the band back to the starting position, maintaining tension in your upper back muscles.
