Partner Squat Overview

The Partner squat workout is a bodyweight exercise that primarily targets the quadriceps.

It involves two partners facing each other, holding hands, and simultaneously squatting down and standing up.

The bodyweight resistance engages the quads, making them work harder to support the movement.

While other muscles are involved, the focus is on the quads, making it an effective thigh-strengthening exercise.

Partner Squat Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing slightly outward.
  2. Engage your core muscles by pulling your belly button in towards your spine.
  3. Lower your body down into a squat position, bending at your knees and hips.
  4. As you squat down, keep your weight in your heels and your chest lifted.
  5. Extend your arms out in front of you for balance.
  6. Pause briefly at the bottom of the squat, then push through your heels to stand back up.
  7. Repeat the squat movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Partner Squat Tips

  1. Position yourself facing your partner, standing shoulder-width apart, with your feet firmly planted on the ground. This will provide a stable base for the exercise and ensure proper alignment of your body.
  2. As you begin the squat, focus on engaging your quads by pushing through your heels and driving your knees forward. This will activate the muscles in your thighs and help you build strength in this area.
  3. Keep your chest lifted and your back straight throughout the entire movement. This will not only help you maintain proper form but also prevent any strain on your lower back.
  4. As you lower into the squat, aim to go as low as you comfortably can while maintaining proper form. This will ensure that you are fully engaging your quads and getting the most out of the exercise.
  5. Remember to breathe throughout the movement, inhaling as you lower into the squat and exhaling as you push back up. This will help you maintain a steady rhythm and provide your muscles with the oxygen they need to perform optimally.
